God will put us in situations sometimes to see if we will obey him or no. The Israelites were given opportunity to obey YHWH and to trust YHWH. He tells us in Proverbs that we don't understand too good what is going on around us but He does.
The exhortation is here in Proverbs 3 which says:
(Proverbs 3:1-8) (KJV) Starting at verse: Proverbs 3
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: 2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. 3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. (Proverbs 3:1-8, KJV)
So we are to walk carefully obeying him:
(Ephesians 5:15-17) (KJV) Starting at verse:
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. (Ephesians 5:15-17, KJV)
And not only that: we have to remember that no matter how wise we think we are about His will we can not be presumptuous
(Psalms 19:12-14) (KJV) Starting at verse:
12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. 13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
(Psalms 19:12-14, KJV)
My ways not your ways, YHWH’s ways are not our ways. His thoughts are unsearchable o ther than the revealed testimony that we have. And to the Law and to the Testimony if they speak not according to This Word, it is because there is no light in them
(Isaiah 8:20) (KJV) Starting at verse:
20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. (Isaiah 8:20, KJV)
(Isaiah 55:8-13) (KJV) Starting at verse:
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
(Isaiah 55:8-13, KJV)
When we are instructed to “acknowledge him” how are we to do that? We have to know what he has said in order to “KNOW” Him, would we not?
If I said I “know” such and such a person, the listener would then draw certain conclusions from that statement.
But if it turned out that I did the opposite of what the person would want then only one of two things is true:
1. I didn’t know the person and was ignorant of his will, or 2. I am his enemy.
2. Is that safe to say?
If I say I love God and I don’t obey his command to say, Thou shalt not steal, then do I know God?
So, to Know God, we must know what he has said, and trust what he has said. He warns us of how import ant it is to hear and Do what He has said.
To hear the words “DEPART FROM ME” from Yahushua will be the worst day of your life when you are face to face with him!
So, pay attention to his Word. Fair warning is given.
(Matthew 7:21-27) (KJV) Starting at verse:
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
(Matthew 7:21-27, KJV)
We develop trust in YHWH by Hearing the Word,
Hebrews 11 verse 1 says (Romans 10:16-17) (KJV) Starting at verse:
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:16-17, KJV)
Those individuals obeying YHWH and his Word come into a guardian/ward relationship with YHWH.
YHWH is my Master(guardian) and I am his Servant (ward), (I will speak this in the first person because it is my relationship with YHWH and his dear Son Yahushua).
As I walk this walk with my cross that I have voluntarily picked up in service to the King/Sovereign/Creator God so that there is no misunderstanding for whom I labor and whose ‘ward’ I am.
2nd timothy Chapter 2 verse 25 to 26 says: (2 Timothy 2:25-26) (KJV) Starting at verse:
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. (2 Timothy 2:25-26, KJV)
Even when the contradiction is great we can not curse the ruler of the people. Even if he is contrary to the Law of the land. YHWH has allowed every thing to occur in this country because the people of this country have rejected, and are actively rejecting every word that proceeds from the mouth of God just like in the desert of the Exodus.
Obey YHWH and keep his commandments are we are promised that we shall be defended.
(Acts 23:4-5) (KJV) Starting at verse:
4 And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God’s high priest? 5 Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people. (Acts 23:4-5, KJV)
(Deuteronomy 10:18-22) (KJV) Starting at verse:
18 He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment. 19 Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. 20 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name. 21 He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen. 22 Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude. (Deuteronomy 10:18-22) (KJV)
