Defining: What is a Man. Doubleminded is OUT. Faithful, singleminded and true.

***Edited 8/10/2013 Sabbath day the 10th day of the 8th month

Part two of What does it mean to say one is a Man? The man is not double-minded. He knows whom he serves and it is YHWH.

Today I was moved to write a little bit about double mindedness.

So today, as I am editing this***

I came across an interesting story in the book of Kings. The question arises whether or not we as individuals  men are willing to be completely single minded concerning the complete Sovereignty of the Creator Elohim.

If YHWH is the Sovereign Elohim, the Sovereign God, the Sovereign Creator, then the next logical conclusion that would have to be drawn in the mind would be that every Event and Every thing that happens in our lives is governed by His Almighty hand.

(King James Version)

1Kgs 18:17-40

17 And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? 18 And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim. 19 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel’s table. 20 So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel. 21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men. 23 Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: 24 And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken. 25 And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under. 26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made. 27 And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked. 28 And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them. 29 And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded. 30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down. 31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name: 32 And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed. 33 And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood. 34 And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time. 35 And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water. 36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. 37 Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. 38 Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God. 40 And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.

(Ps 141:3 [KJV])
Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

(Mic 7:5 [KJV])
Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.

(Prov 6:25 [KJV])  Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.  (Prov 6:26 [KJV])  For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.  (Prov 6:27 [KJV])  Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?

What is “double-mindedness”?   What does it mean to say a man is double-minded?  The Scripture says that the double minded man is unstable in all his ways.  A corollary scripture is in Matthew 6:24  where Yahushua warns us:

(Matt 6:24 [KJV])
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Life is made up of choices that a man makes each day.  When  man wakes from sleep  and he gains awareness that he has awoken from the unconsciousness of sleep then he decides what he is going to do  at that moment.

So a man has to make a choice in his life. He must make a decision about what is going to be the Foundational Bedrock of his decision making process.

What this means is that a man must be fully persuaded in one’s own mind about what he is doing and the reasons why he is doing what he is doing. Whatsoever is not done in faith is sin as Romans 14 23 states:

(Rom 14:23 [KJV])
And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

(Rom 14:5 [KJV])
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

(Rom 14:8 [KJV])
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

First of all some foundational information must be laid out as far definitions.
A double-minded man would be an individual a man that has more than one belief system in his mind. An example of this follows:

A man that believes the Creation story in  Scripture that God created all in existence from nothing in a 7 day creation week would have a different belief system  mindset than a man that believed in a billion and billion year long creation ‘week’ instead.

A man that believes that God made man (Adam) from dust and then breathed life into him that he became a living soul, would believe something quite different about the value of life than a man that believed  Darwin’s theory of “natural selection” and evolution from apes as his origin. A man that believes he is an accidental animal is more likely to act like an wild animal.

An acceptance of abortion would be the most natural thought in the world for a man that believes in natural selection.

For example, a man that believes the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation would be considered single minded. When, for instance, the Scripture says in Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning , God created the heaven and the Earth”, the single minded man would take that  and act upon it. The foundational belief created by that one statement is that the planet exists because an Almighty God created it.

Thus in this case, abortion would be a complete abomination.

How could a man kill that which God knew before birth?

(Jer 1:4 [KJV])
Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

(Jer 1:5 [KJV])
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

(Jer 1:6 [KJV])
Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

And later in Jeremiah:

(Jer 19:5 [KJV])
They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind:

On the opposite side a belief that God used millions and millions of years to create the planet and he used billions and billions of years to create the solar system then and the earth was cooling for billions of years before the first life crawled out of the “primordial soup” the belief system that that thought creates is far different than  the belief system that accepts Genesis chapter one.

A  man that believes  he evolved from an ape is more likely to act like an animal as opposed to one who believes that an all powerful Creator God formed him from dust.

The double minded man is unstable in all his ways

(Jas 1:5 [KJV])
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

(Jas 1:6 [KJV])
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

(Jas 1:7 [KJV])
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

(Jas 1:8 [KJV])
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

The rich man is weath is his strong tower

(Prov 18:10 [KJV])
The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

(Prov 18:11 [KJV])
The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.

(Prov 18:12 [KJV])
Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.

He speaks fast without thinking and decides a matter before thought:

(Prov 18:13 [KJV])
He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.

The rich speak roughly but the poor speaketh with entreaties.

(Prov 18:23 [KJV])
The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.

And he is practicing fornication:

(1Cor 5:10 [KJV])
Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

(1Cor 5:11 [KJV])
But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

(1Cor 5:12 [KJV])
For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

(1Cor 5:13 [KJV])
But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

The wicked speaketh with his feet and teacheth with his fingers

He has a problem seeing things as they are.
YHWH giveth the delusion to the wicked

He tries to figure out every thing for himself
Devices
He does not trust in YHWH with all his heart

He does not put the Kingdom of YHWH  first
Seek ye first the Kingdom of YHWH and all these things shall be added unto you

Mat 6:19-34  (Matt 6:19 [KJV])
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

(Matt 6:20 [KJV])
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

(Matt 6:21 [KJV])
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

(Matt 6:22 [KJV])
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

(Matt 6:23 [KJV])
But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

(Matt 6:24 [KJV])
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

(Matt 6:25 [KJV])
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

(Matt 6:26 [KJV])
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

(Matt 6:27 [KJV])
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

(Matt 6:28 [KJV])
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

(Matt 6:29 [KJV])
And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

(Matt 6:30 [KJV])
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

(Matt 6:31 [KJV])
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

(Matt 6:32 [KJV])
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

(Matt 6:33 [KJV])
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

(Matt 6:34 [KJV])
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

So Hebrews and those obeying YHWH and keeping his commandments have an injunction:

(Josh 24:14 [KJV])
Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.

Unforgiveness is a demon and must be cast out constantly when we first begin this process of living according to the Sovereign Messiah Jesus Christ. If we do not forgive all the sins of your past come back upon your head. This is law. Jesus Christ confims this in his words in the parable of the man that was forgiven a huge debt and then went and refused to forgive a tiny debt. Matthew 18 21 to 35 in the King James Version tells us the penalty for taking the Grace of God and thinking it is only for ourselves. We must constantly as necessary Cast out the Demon called Forgiveness and Confess our sins like 1John 1:8-10

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

That way God can keep working with us. if we choose to hold on to injury by anyone and hold a bitter heart against anyone, that bitterness keeps the HOLY GHOST out because he can not see sin.
