Chapter 6: Tithing. How much? To whom do you give?

Each title has a purpose and there are three specified in Scripture to my current understanding.

 

 

 

 

 

One of them is for the widow and the fatherless and the  alien living within your gates.

 

The second is for

 

 

One of them is for the Feast of Tabernacles and to spend on yourself.  God is pretty wise about this. He knew that we would need the gratification of the tithe for our own wants and desires. As long as we are not wanting things contrary to his law we can have our hearts desire what so ever your heart lusteth after…

Tithing

 

1.     First Tithe

 

 

1^st tithe is Holy to Yahuwah. I am not quite certain what to do with it yet but it is sacred.

 

 

Exodus 34: 26 Exo 34:26  You shall bring the first of the firstfruits of your ground to the house of Jehovah your God. You shall not boil a kid in the milk of its mother.

a.    Lev 27: 30-34

 

Lev 27:30  And all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land, of the fruit of the tree, shall be Jehovah’s; it is holy to Jehovah.

Lev 27:31  And if a man really redeems any of his tithes, he shall add its fifth to it.

Lev 27:32  And all the tithe of the herd and of the flock, all that passes under the rod, a tenth shall be holy to Jehovah;

Lev 27:33  he shall not search whether it is good or bad, nor shall he change it. And if he at all changes it, then it shall be that it and its substitute shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.

Lev 27:34  These are the commands which Jehovah has commanded Moses for the sons of Israel, on Mount Sinai.

 

b.    Num 18: 12-13

 

Num 18:12  All the best of the oil, and all the best of the new wine, and wheat, the first fruits of them which they give to Jehovah, I have given to you.

Num 18:13  The firstfruits of all that is in their land, which they bring in to Jehovah shall be yours; every clean one in your house shall eat it;

 

 

c.    Num 18: 20-32

 

Num 18:20  And Jehovah said to Aaron, You shall have no inheritance in their land, nor shall you have any portion among them; I am your portion and your inheritance among the sons of Israel.

Num 18:21  And, behold, I have given all the tithe in Israel to the sons of Levi for an inheritance, in return for their service which they are serving, the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.

Num 18:22  And the sons of Israel shall not come near to the tabernacle of the congregation any more, lest they bear sin, and die.

Num 18:23  But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity; it shall be a never ending statute throughout your generations, that in the midst of the sons of Israel they shall have no inheritance;

 

 

d.   Deut 12: 6

 

Deu 12:6  And you shall bring your burnt offerings there, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offering, and the firstlings of your herd and of your flock.

Deut 18: 3-5Deu 18:3  And this shall be the priest’s due from the people, from those that offer a sacrifice, whether an ox or sheep, that they shall give to the priest the leg, and the two cheeks, and the stomach,

Deu 18:4  the first of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your flock, you shall give to him.

Deu 18:5  For Jehovah your God has chosen him out of all your tribes to stand to serve in the name of Jehovah, he and his sons continually.

 

 

f.      Deut 26: 1-11

 

Deu 26:1  And it shall be, when you have come into the land which Jehovah your God is giving to you as an inheritance, and you have possessed it, and live in it;

Deu 26:2  then you shall take of the first of all the fruit of the ground which you shall bring in from your land which Jehovah your God is giving to you, and shall put it in a basket, and shall go to the place which Jehovah your God shall choose to cause His name to dwell there.

Deu 26:3  And you shall come to the priest who is in those days, and shall say to him, I declare today to Jehovah your God that I have come into the land which Jehovah has sworn to our fathers to give to us.

Deu 26:4  And the priest shall take the basket out of your hand and place it before the altar of Jehovah your God.

Deu 26:5  And you shall speak and say before Jehovah your God, My father was a perishing Aramean! And he went down to Egypt with few men, and lived there, and became a nation there, great, mighty and many.

Deu 26:6  And the Egyptians dealt ill with us, and afflicted us, and put hard labor on us.

Deu 26:7  And we cried to Jehovah, the God of our fathers, and Jehovah heard our voice, and saw our affliction, and our labor, and our oppression.

Deu 26:8  And Jehovah brought us out from Egypt by a mighty hand, and by an arm stretched out, and by great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders.

Deu 26:9  And He has brought us to this place, and has given to us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.

Deu 26:10  And now, behold, I have brought in the first of the fruits of the ground which You have given me, O Jehovah. And you shall place it before Jehovah your God, and bow yourself before Jehovah your God,

Deu 26:11  and rejoice in all the good which Jehovah your God has given to you, and to your house, you, and the Levite, and the alien who is in your midst.

 

 

g.    Mal 3: 8-12

 

Mal 3:8  Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me. But you say, In what have we robbed You? In the tithe and the offering!

Mal 3:9  You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the nation, all of it.

Mal 3:10  Bring all the tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house. And test Me now with this, says Jehovah of Hosts, whether I will not open the windows of the heavens for you and pour out a blessing until there is no sufficiency of room to store it.

Mal 3:11  And I will rebuke the devourer for you, and he shall not destroy the fruit of your ground against you; nor shall your vine miscarry against you in the field, says Jehovah of Hosts.

Mal 3:12  And all nations shall call you blessed, for you shall be a delightful land, says Jehovah of Hosts.

 

 

h.   Proverbs 3: 9-10

 

Pro 3:9  Honor Jehovah with your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your increase,

Pro 3:10  and your barns shall be filled with plenty, and your presses shall burst with new wine.

 

 

 

 

2.    2^nd Tithe

 

 

2^nd Tithe the second tithe is for my own use during the feast of Tabernacles.

 

 

3.  The  Year Tithe

 

3^rd Tithe This is the three year tithe to be used to feed others that come within your gates. Every three years in the same third year a tithe goes to feed the others. This is the Welfare system that God Almighty has developed.

 

Deut 14: 28-29

 

Deu 14:28  At the end of three years, even the same year, you shall bring forth all the tithe of your increase, and shall lay it up within your gates.

Deu 14:29  And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the alien, and the fatherless, and the widow who are within your gates shall come and shall eat and be satisfied; so that Jehovah your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

a.    Deut 26: 12-15

 

Deu 26:12  When you have made an end of tithing all the tithes of your increase the third year, the year of tithing, and have given it to the Levite, the alien, the orphan, and the widow, that they may eat inside your gates, and be filled,

Deu 26:13  then you shall say before Jehovah your God, I have consumed the devoted things from the house, and also have given them to the Levite, and to the alien, to the orphan, and to the widow, according to all Your command which You have commanded me. I have not transgressed Your commands, and I have not forgotten.

Deu 26:14  I have not eaten of it in my mourning; nor have I put any of it away for uncleanness; nor have I given of it for the dead. I have listened to the voice of Jehovah my God. I have done according to all that You have commanded me.

Deu 26:15  Look down from Your holy habitation, from Heaven, and bless Your people Israel, and the land which You have given to us, as You swore to our fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey.

 

 

b.   Lev 27: 30-34

 

Lev 27:30  And all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land, of the fruit of the tree, shall be Jehovah’s; it is holy to Jehovah.

The issue of tithing is quite important to God and he has specified quite a bit of Scripture to the topic. There appear to be three, one yearly tithe of 10% of increase to be for the fatherless, the widow and the alien within your gates; the Second  to be collected every 3^rd year for the fatherless and the widow and the alien within your gates; and the third to be spent yearly at the feast of Tabernacles on yourself!  My favorite tithe!
